Berkeley is a university town that has all the advantages of an academic setting, a wealth of culture, social diversity and moderate temperatures throughout the year. Known for its cultural diversity, art, beautiful parks, innovative businesses, great restaurants, shopping and geographic location, Berkeley is a visitor's paradise.

 

The Bay Area is most noted for its worldclass city, San Francisco, which is one of the major tourist destinations in the United States. With Chinatown, the Financial District, Fisherman's Wharf, the Castro, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, etc., SF boasts hundreds of attractions.

The beautiful Bay Area weather is condusive to sporting and recreational events. ESI students enjoy activities such as volleyball tournaments, basketball games, ice skating, barbecues, musical productions, student theatre, and SF Giants and Oakland A's games.

 

When not studying, there is plenty for students to do around Berkeley and the Bay Area!
